These were some of the first tracks ever laid down by the California Western Railroad in 1885, and we've been carrying passengers on them ever since.

We operate both Diesel-Electric engines and our #45 Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Engine, the Super Skunk. These engines pull passenger cars, including a bar car with snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, beer, wine, and spirits, as well as an open air car, perfect for enjoying all this route has to offer.

At the Skunk Train, we are proud to offer an authentic and immersive experience on our historic trains. As you embark on your journey with us, it’s important to be aware that the outdoor cars of our historic trains may expose you to elements such as dirt, cinders, and soot. While this adds to the nostalgic charm of the ride, it can also result in these substances coming into contact with your clothing.

Please keep in mind that there is a possibility of getting dirty during your adventure with us. Skunk Train will not be responsible for replacing or cleaning clothing that may become stained as a result. We recommend dressing appropriately and being prepared to embrace the authenticity of the bygone era. We look forward to providing you with an unforgettable journey through history!
